Consumer Health Data Sharing Consent

Effective Date: 10/13/2026 · Last Updated: 10/15/2026

This document asks you for one thing: your consent to our sharing of your Consumer Health Data, in the ways described below and no others. It is separate from your consent to our collecting that data, which the Consumer Health Data Collection Consent asks for, because several states' consumer health data laws require that consent to share be obtained separately and distinctly from consent to collect. We wrote this document to the strictest of those laws so that it satisfies every one of them, and we ask every Nisone user for this consent, wherever they live.

"Consumer Health Data" means what the Consumer Health Data Collection Consent says it means: the measurements, journal entries, intake answers, and study participation information you record in Nisone. That document covers what we collect and why; this one covers only what leaves Nisone, to whom, and for what.

Why Nisone Shares

Nisone is a platform for open research. A study pools the measurements of everyone who joins it so that the study can answer its question, and the pooled result is open: anyone with a Nisone account can download it. Contributing to that pool is the service. There is no way to hold a Nisone account and keep your recorded measurements out of the studies you join, which is why an account cannot be created without this consent.

What We Share

We share these pseudonymously. A study export identifies each participant by an enrollment number, not by your email address or any other identifier, and it does not include your account details.

With Whom

We do not sell Consumer Health Data, and we do not share it with advertisers. The hosting provider that processes data on our behalf is described in the Consumer Health Data Collection Consent; passing data to it is necessary to provide the service, and it is not sharing that this consent covers. Disclosures compelled by a valid legal process are likewise described there and do not depend on this consent.

What You Are Consenting To

By accepting this document you consent to our sharing the categories of Consumer Health Data listed above, with the recipients listed above, for the purpose of open research as described above. You are not consenting to anything else: not to sale, not to advertising, and not to any recipient or purpose that is not named here.

You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account from within the Nisone application, or by emailing us at hello.nisone@proton.me from the address on your Nisone account. Either is as easy as giving the consent was. Withdrawing it stops further sharing from the moment we receive your request. Data that other account holders have already downloaded as part of a study export is outside our control, and we cannot recall it. Because contributing to a study's pooled measurements is the service, withdrawing this consent ends your participation in your studies.

We will not share any category of Consumer Health Data, or share with any recipient, or for any purpose, that is not disclosed in this document without first updating it and asking for your affirmative consent again. We announce a material change in the application as its own notice, before it takes effect, so that you can read what changed and withdraw first if you prefer.
